Following His death and resurrection, Jesus commanded His followers to share the good news of salvation with everyone. His command, which He likely reiterated a number of times during the 40 days between His resurrection and ascension is recorded in Matthew 28:16-20, Mark 16:15, Luke 24:46-49, John 20:21, and Acts 1:8. While each passage contains unique characteristics, they are marked by their common command: proclaim the good news.

We believe this command, which was first given to His closest disciples, is relevant for every follower of Jesus at every point in history. Therefore, an essential component of our ministry is to equip and lead members to proclaim the good news of salvation in their homes, workplaces, social environments, neighborhoods, in our city, region, state, and around the world. To help members mature in their understanding and participation in missions, we seek to lead them to:

LEARN about mission opportunities locally and globally,

PRAY for missions endeavors locally and globally,

GIVE financially to support missions locally and globally, and

GO into the world and share the good news.

  • Missions Education: Missions education involves a comprehensive effort to inform the CBC family about God’s call to take the gospel to the ends of the earth. This effort includes weekly instruction for our children on Wednesday evenings, church-wide mission emphases, the work of our Women’s Ministry and Men’s Ministry to champion mission’s education, and much more.

  • Local Missions: Over the years CBC has been vital in ministering to our community. Whether we adopt sports teams from Campbellsville University, commit to pray for our local school employees for an entire year, work at a local food pantry and homeless shelter, lead camp ground worship services, etc., CBC invests and ministers to our community.

We also have three ministries that minister to our community on our church campus:

  • Campbellsville Child Development Center which ministers to over 100 children daily as day care that has received 3 stars from the state.

  • Central Kentucky Crisis Pregnancy Center

  • Lighthouse Counseling Center which provides Christian counseling.

Missionary Sending: An important part of our strategy is to pray for and send out men, women, and families from CBC to spread the good news globally. Recently, two families left CBC to pursue vocational missions. We pray these families will blaze a trail for countless others to leave our church to pursue God’s call to advance the gospel to the ends of the earth.

Short-Term Trips: In addition to other mission endeavors, we are answering God’s call to advance the gospel to the ends of the earth through short-term mission trips. Over the past couple years we have taken trips to Ireland, Pontiac, MI, Costa Rica, Japan, MO, Eastern Kentucky, and many other locations.

We have other trips and location that we will be pursuing over the next few years. For more information about current trips being considered and past trips, please contact the church office.

Strategic Partners: In addition to our primary ministry affiliates, we partner with a number of groups to fulfill our mission of equipping and sending our members to advance the gospel locally and globally.
