Trip Itinerary

Day 1
6-21-08

We all had a great time today. We did have a little trouble with the DVD player on the bus, but Craig (our bus driver) pulled over in Springfield and fixed it. (Woo Hoo!) We watched Ratatouille and Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium before lunch. We finally got to a rest stop around noon and ate our bag lunches. It started raining while we were eating, but there were plenty of dry spots for us to get out of the rain. After everyone had all they wanted to eat, it was back on the bus for more riding. During this stretch of roadway we watched National Treasure 2. We were planning on National Treasure 1, but the DVD case was empty, no movie. We had one other rest stop in West Virginia where some of the students got some Starbucks, and others just bought junk food. We did ride a lot today, and watched 3 movies! Some folks were able to sleep while others just enjoyed the movies or talked. We arrived in Charlottesville Holiday Inn around 6:30. At 7:15 we headed to downtown Charlottesville for supper. It was really nice in their downtown area. Their Main Street was blocked at both ends so vehicles could not drive through and only pedestrians had full access. All buildings were remodeled and there were nice restaurants and shops set up for us to enjoy. After eating we got back to the motel and had group devotion. It seems like everyone is in their proper room and getting rest now. All of the pictures today are about traveling, hopefully we will have more exciting ones tomorrow!
